Our India inspired Tikka Spice Blend is a savoury and blend of spices with garlic and fenugreek. ‘Tikka’ is a dish of chicken skewers marinated in spices and yoghurt and char-grilled in a hot Indian clay oven, called a tandoor. This style of cooking is believed to have originated from the Punjab region.
 

HOW TO USE

• Be sure to use a clean, dry spoon when scooping out of the tub.

RECIPE SUGGESTION

Tikka chicken

• Ingredients: 4 tbsp oil, 4 tbsp tikka spice, 1 tbsp tomato paste, 2 tbsp lemon juice, ½ tsp salt, 1/3 cup Woolworths plain yoghurt, 400 g mini chicken breast fillets OR 1 pack chicken thighs and drumsticks OR 2 large brinjals, sliced, salt and pepper to season
• Method: In a medium bowl, combine the oil, tikka spice and tomato paste and stir well. Add the lemon juice, yoghurt and salt and stir well to combine. Marinade the chicken in the tikka mix for at least 2 hours, or overnight. If using brinjals, marinade for 2 hours. Take the chicken out of the fridge one hour before cooking. Season the chicken with a little salt and pepper. Cook the chicken on an open gas fire, turning often to avoid sticking on the grill and basting with the extra marinade left in a bowl. Cook the chicken until cooked through, depending on the cut used.
