Our Sweet and Sour Sauce is a fruity and tangy Chinese inspired sauce. Sweet and sour is one of the most popular Chinese-style dishes. The dish consists of batter-coated chunks of meat that are fried and coated in this sticky, delicious sauce with a mixture of vegetables and is served over rice.

HOW TO USE 

• Store in a cool, dry place.
• Refrigerate after opening and use within 2 weeks.

RECIPE SUGGESTION

• Prepare 1 cup of jasmine rice according to on pack cooking instructions. Cut 400 g skinless, boneless chicken breast fillets into medium-sized cubes and season with salt and white pepper. 
• Dip each chicken cube into a beaten egg and coat with cornflour. 
• Heat 4 tablespoons vegetable oil in a wok or pan on medium to high heat.
• Add the chicken pieces and fry for 4 minutes, or until golden-brown, crispy and cooked through. 
• Remove from the oil and place on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil.
• Heat the wok or medium-sized pan to medium heat with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. 
• Add cubed red pepper, ½yellow pepper, and 1 medium brown onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes. 
• Add the crispy chicken pieces and half the bottle of Woolworths Sweet and Sour Sauce and bring to a gentle simmer.
• To serve:  divide into 2 bowls and serve over jasmine rice, garnish with fresh coriander, sliced spring onion, and lime. 
• For an extra kick of heat, add freshly chopped chili.
