Our India Inspired Butter Chicken Spice Blend is a vibrant blend that embodies India's diverse spice heritage. Butter chicken is also known as Murgh Makhani and originated in Delhi but has evolved into various versions globally. It is known for its mild, rich flavour with savoury warm aromatic spices and curry leaves. When added to a rich tomato gravy,  this spice provides a curry that is mild and buttery in flavour and creamy in texture.

HOW TO USE

• Ideal for creating an authentic butter chicken curry at home.
• Just add chicken, paneer, or beans and garnish with roughly chopped fresh coriander.

RECIPE SUGGESTION

• 400 g Chicken fillets, cut in half 
• 15 ml Oil
• 50 g (3 Tbsp) Butter
• 1 Onion, finely chopped 
• 10 ml (2 tsp) Garlic, finely chopped 
• 5 ml (1tsp) Ginger, finely chopped 
• 15 g ( 2Tbsp) Butter chicken curry spice 
• 30 g Tomato paste 
• 125 ml  Concentrated Chicken stock 
• 250 ml (300 g) Italian crushed tomatoes 
• 100 ml  Double cream 
• 5 ml (1 tsp) Sugar
• 2.5 ml (1/2 tsp) Salt
• Fresh coriander, chopped

Method

• Brown chicken pieces in oil and set aside.
• Melt butter, add onion, garlic, and ginger, and saute.
• Add spice mix and fry for 5 minutes.
• Add tomato paste and fry for 2 minutes.
• Add chicken, and cook for 8 - 10 minutes.
• Add stock and tomatoes, and simmer for 5 minutes.
• Add cream and simmer for 10 minutes.
• Season with sugar and salt to taste.
• Garnish with chopped coriander before serving.
