Sticky barbeque chicken wings

Ingredients

  • a handful baby herbs, to serve
  • 1 lemon, juiced, to serve
  • 1 onion, halved
  • 12 chicken wings
  • a pinch salt
  • 4 bay leaves
  • 3 tbsp organic chicken stock
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp onion flakes
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp soya sauce
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1 1/2 cups organic tomato sauce

Cooking Instructions

  1. Mix the tomato sauce, white and cider vinegar, soya sauce, garlic, chicken stock and onion powder and brown sugar in a saucepan and bring to a simmer over a medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  2. Bring a pot of hot water to the boil, then add the onion, bay leaves, salt and chicken and simmer for ½ hour until tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Put the chicken wings on a preheated grill, and brushing frequently with the barbeque sauce, cook them for about 15 minutes or until brown and sticky.
  4. Serve with a squeeze of lemon and garnish with baby herbs.
