Classic bobotie
Bobotie was once named bobotok, an Indonesian dish made with tamarind palp. In later year's vinegar replaced tamarind.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cold water
- A splash 1,5 L milk
- 5 slices of day old white bread
- 6 Free-range eggs, beaten
- salt, to taste
- 1 Tbsp chutney
- 3 Pimento peppers
- 4 bay leaves
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- 1/2 tsp crushed chillies
- 1 Tbsp tamarind
- 200 g white sugar
- 1 Tbsp White grape vinegar
- 500 g woolworths lean beef mince
- 1/2 large onion, chopped

Cooking Instructions
1. Soak bread in milk and water
2. Sauté onion with a little oil until golden brown. Add all the ingredients except the eggs, into the pot and cook
3. Continue stirring for 10min. Remove from the heat and cool
4. Mix 6 eggs well, together with the squeezed out bread
5. Add the cooled mixture and the egg mixture together and place into a medium baking dish
6. Finally whip 2 eggs and pour over the top
7. Bake for 30 minutes at 180'C
