Bra Care 101

Say good bye to badly behaved bras with this nifty bra care guide from our lingerie team. Even your best bras will eventually lose their elasticity, but proper storage and wash care will keep them going for longer.

  1. Take care

Always check care labels before washing – some bras can survive a machine wash, while others will be destroyed.
  2. Separate Colours

Separating light and dark colours applies to your lingerie as well.
  3. Protect Delicates

Minimise the bashing your bras will take in the washing machine and invest in a laundry bag. Delicate items can also be put in a pillowcase to protect it.
  4. Tips For Padded Bras

Keep your padded bras in top shape by drying them on a line. Tumble drying can compromise the foam structure. Reshape the cups while damp.
  5. No Shades of Grey

Use a washing detergent that contains brightening agents to prevent light colours from becoming dull.
  6. Keep ‘em Flat

Pack your bras flat in a drawer and twist the cups of padded bras so one cup rests inside the other.
  7. Know When It’s Over

For the best comfort, support and elasticity, bras usually last for about a year. While it may be tempting to hang onto your old faves, these delicate items do have a limited lifespan.
