UBALIWE

UBaliwe is a celebration of heritage, heart and human connection. Rooted in the meaning of my name Baliwe, "to be counted", my pottery honours the idea that

to be counted is to be seen, acknowledged and valued.

UBaliwe is a small, independent ceramics business where each piece is handcrafted with intention. My collections include functional items like cups, bowls, plates, vases, and fruit bowls. But these are not just objects. Every curve, texture, and glaze tells a story, inviting users to connect more deeply with the moments and people that matter.

Inspired by African heritage, contemporary forms and nature's textures, my aesthetic strikes a balance between the organic and the refined.

Each piece is produced in small batches, using locally sourced clay and food-safe glazes.

The result is durable, beautiful ceramicware that is as suitable for the family dinner table as it is for a boutique retail shelf.

Sustainability is core to my practice. All packaging is recyclable or compostable, and I intentionally minimise waste in every stage of production. As I grow, I aim to collaborate with like-minded suppliers and retailers that value ethical craftsmanship and slow design.
