Meet Isabel Bothma. The vibrant, passionate designer behind Isa B Jewellery Designs. A jewellery brand striving to create fresh and unusual designs that leave customers feeling unique and stylish.

Isabel can trace her love for design back to high school when she would pore over her mother’s Honey catalogues, captivated by the range of designs. At seventeen, she attended the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) open day where she recalls being stunned by the jewellery-making process. It was here that she decided to pursue her love for jewellery, applying for a National Diploma in Jewellery Design and Manufacturing at TUT.

After completing a Graduate Development Programme with Rare-earth Creations and a postgraduate course with Design @50, Isabel officially started her business in 2019. As a designer who enjoys her freedom, Isabel prefers contemporary jewellery design over commercial, an approach that allows her to be more innovative. Today, Isa B Jewellery Designs is one of the top three best-selling brands at the Jewellery Village in Monte Casino.  

Through the Woolies Youth Makers Programme, Isabel has gained valuable expertise from her mentors. She has learned how to effectively price her jewellery, identify her target market when working with a big retailer and where to source quality materials for her product. Most importantly, she received a behind-the-scenes look at how to scale her business.

In the future, Isabel envisions owning a boutique store in Hyde Park. She also hopes to travel the world showcasing her work at various tradeshows. Above all, Isabel wants to launch an online store where customers across the globe can get their hands on her jewellery.
