World Diabetes Day
DEAL WITH DIABETES WITH HELP FROM WOOLWORTHS
IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD DIABETES DAY, WOOLWORTHS INVITES DIABETIC CUSTOMERS TO A SERIES OF DIETITIAN-LED STORE TOURS
According to the most recent National Health survey conducted in 2012 (SANHANES) 1 in 10 South African adults has diabetes. That’s a hard-hitting statistic, and makes diabetes a growing concern in South Africa. World Diabetes Day is taking place on 14 November 2015 and in order to help customers understand the importance of good nutrition in managing diabetes symptoms, Woolworths is hosting a series of dietitian-led store tours.
The tours will help educate customers and their families on how to make more informed food choices when they shop. Woolworths’ dietitian Cindy Chin explains, “We receive lots of enquiries from diabetic customers about which Woolies foods are best for their condition. These informative store tours are very important as they give us the perfect opportunity to answer their questions, and at the same time, to dispel many widespread myths about living with diabetes.”
The tours will take place in
