How to build a coffee freakshake

Sure, you can have coffee with milk. But why not have it with ice cream, pretzels and chocolate snow? Allow us to present the coffee freakshake – for when you’re feeling just a little bit extra.

Let it snow:

Chocolate snow: Combine 1 cup caster sugar, ½ cup cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon vanilla paste and 1 litre of water in a sauce pan. Bring to a simmer and allow to bubble for 5 minutes. Pour into a shallow tray and freeze until set. Scrape the ice with a fork to form chocolate snow.

It’s pretzel time:

Chocolate covered pretzels: Drizzle salted pretzels with melted chocolate, sprinkle with crushed almonds and leave to set.

Brew that coffee:

Brew your favourite coffee – a good strong Americano or a double espresso works well.

Get freaky:

Time to build that freakshake! Add a scoop of chocolate snow to the bottom of a jug. Pour over warm frothed milk, followed by the hot coffee. Add a scoop (or two!) of ice cream, then garnish with the pretzels, and a stroopwafel for good measure.

We know. It’s a little extra. But sometimes, so are we.
