How to make a cute gingerbread house

A great holiday activity: get the little ones involved!

SHOP THE RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 Woolworths Gingerbread House Kit 

You’ll need:

  • 80 g butter, softened
  • 60 g golden syrup
  • 35 ml cold water

METHOD:

  1. Make the gingerbread house according to package instructions.
  2. Mix the royal icing and spoon into the piping bag.
  3. Decorate the gingerbread pieces with the icing and stud with rainbow and silver pearls and rainbow stars.
  4. Pipe some icing onto a flat plate and balance the two rectangular pieces to form a 
  5. roof-shaped structure. Add the triangular pieces to each end, and glue into place using more icing. Hold the house steady until the icing has set slightly and the house feels sturdy. Position the gingerbread men outside the house.

Cook's note: You can add more icing and your favourite sweets to decorate the house further.
