Caring for your cut roses
Nothing compares to the elegance of a fresh, vibrant bouquet of roses. Caring for these classic flowers doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are some fresh tips to ensure your roses look the best and their brightest for as long as possible.
1. Start with the Right Vase
Always begin with a clean vase to prevent bacteria growth. Avoid metal vases, as metal can react with water and lower the pH. Our flower food is already formulated to maintain the ideal pH balance.
2. Hydrate Immediately
Roses need water as soon as possible. Place them in water right away after receiving or purchasing them.
3. Prepare the Stems
Cut 2–3 cm off the stems at a 45° angle before placing them in water. This improves water absorption and helps keep your roses fresher for longer.
4. Use Flower Food
Always add the provided flower food to the water. It plays a key role in nourishing the roses and extending their vase life.
If you plan to refresh the water regularly, consider purchasing extra flower food for continued care.
5. Remove Leaves Below the Waterline
Strip any leaves that would sit below the water. Submerged leaves promote bacterial growth, which can shorten the lifespan of your roses.
6. Choose the Right Location
Display your roses in a cool area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts. Extreme temperatures can cause roses to wilt faster.
7. Maintain Their Appearance
For longer lasting roses, replace the water every 2 days.
