Be Sun Safe

It's fun to play in the sun, but just a few serious sunburns can increase your toddler’s risk of skin cancer and wrinkles later in life.

If you're not a member of Woolworths Littleworld yet, why not find out about the benefits?

  1. Sunscreen

Use sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 that provides protection against both UVA and UVB every time your child goes outside. For the best protection, apply sunscreen generously 30 minutes before going outdoors. Don't forget to protect ears, noses, lips, and the tops of feet. There is no such thing as a healthy tan; a tan is a sign of sun damage.

  2. Wear A Hat

Wide-brimmed hats are perfect for shading the face, scalp, ears and neck and offer great protection for young faces, but remember to double up with sunscreen.

  3. Cover Up

Light clothing that covers your child’s skin helps protect against UV rays but it’s wise to double up with sunscreen and keep your child in the shade.
  4. Shade

UV rays are strongest and most harmful at midday so try to stay indoors then. If you can’t, make sure you’re in the shade of a tree, umbrella or pop up tent.
