Our Tikka paste is a tomato-based paste with intense notes of garlic and fenugreek.‘Tikka’ means small pieces or chunks. Marinating and grilling pieces of meat and or vegetables replicates the flavour of the 'tandoor' or the clay oven in which this dish is traditionally cooked. 

HOW TO USE

• Use with chicken breast fillets or vegetables.
• Once opened, refrigerate, and use within 2 weeks. 
• Oil will separate out on standing, stir through before use. 
• Heat levels may vary due to the nature of the chilli used.

RECIPE SUGGESTION

Tikka Chicken

• Ingredients: 400 g Woolies Free Range Mini Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets; 1/2 jar Tikka Paste; 1/4 cup (63 ml) double cream plain yoghurt; Juice of 1/2 a lemon
• Method: Combine tikka paste, yoghurt and lemon juice in a bowl. Add chicken, mix through, cover and leave to marinate in the fridge for 2 hours. Remove chicken from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking. Heat a griddle pan to medium-high heat. Once hot, grill marinated chicken for 8 minutes turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through. Baste regularly with leftover marinade during cooking. 
• Serve with fresh lemon wedges and your choice of chutney. Alternatively, grill on the braai to maximise smokey, charred flavour. Serve with basmati rice or naan and poppadums and any pickles and chutneys
