Try this Fantastical™ Easter egg cake

Ingredients

  • Woolworths Fantastical™ Multi Coloured Eggs, to decorate
  • Woolworths Fantastical™ Dark Chocolate Eggs, to decorate
  • Woolworths Fantastical™ Phoenix Eggs, to decorate
  • Woolworths Fantastical™ Unicorn Eggs, to decorate
  • 120 g softened butter
  • 1 x 280 g Woolworths Vanilla Butter Icing Kit
  • 260 ml vegetable oil
  • 450 ml milk
  • 6 large free range eggs
  • 2 x Woolworth Vanilla Cake Kits

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 170C° or fan 150C°
  2. Grease and prepare 3 cake tins: 

    1 x 19 cm round springform
    1 x 16 cm round springform 
    1 x 12 cm round springform 

  3. Beat the eggs and the sugar from the baking mix at a high speed until the mixture has doubled in volume and is pale and creamy in appearance. Add the oil and beat, then add 400 ml milk and stir to combine. (The remaining 50 ml of milk will be used for the icing.) Add one box of cake mix and beat on the slowest setting, before adding the other box of cake mix and beating to form a smooth batter. 
  4. Divide and pour the batter between the three greased cake tins. The 19 cm tin will bake for 60 minutes, the 16 cm tin for 40 minutes and the 12 cm tin for 30 minutes. Bake until a skewer comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes before turning out. 
  5. Allow the cakes to cool completely before using a sharp knife and carefully slicing off the rounded tops of all of your sponges. 
  6. To make the icing, beat the butter in a bowl with an electric beater until light and fluffy. Slowly add the vanilla icing mix and 50 ml milk and beat well until blended and smooth. Spread evenly over the layers of cake. 
  7. Decorate each layer/tier with assorted Fantastical™ eggs in every magical shade and delicious flavour!
