3 fantastic hot cross bun jaffles

Ingredients

  • 1 x 6 pack Woolworths Mocha Hot Cross Buns
  • butter, for greasing
  • 1 x 6 pack Woolworths Extra Spicy Hot Cross Buns
  • 70 g Woolworths Speck Ham or crispy cooked bacon
  • 125 g Camembert
  • 1 x 155 g jar Woolworths Cranberry Jelly
  • 1 x 6 pack Woolworths Fruit Free Hot Cross Buns
  • Peanut butter, for spreading
  • Raspberry jam, for spreading
  • 12 fresh raspberries

Cooking Instructions

Prepare yourself: we have 3 amazing ways with hot cross bun jaffles. One contains a chocolate marshmallow egg, the other is a cheesy, tangy mix of Camembert and cranberry, and for our final trick, we present you with the peanut butter and jam hot cross bun jaffle. Ta da!

For the Mocha-and-chocolate marshmallow jaffle:

1 x 6 pack Woolworths Mocha Hot Cross Buns  
butter, for greasing 
1 x Woolworths Jaffle and Chocolate Egg Kit

 

METHOD

  1. Cut the hot cross buns in half and grease the jaffle iron with butter. Stuff the hot cross buns with Woolworths chocolate-coated marshies.
  2. Toast over a low gas flame or medium coals, flipping the jaffle iron every 10 seconds for even toasting and to prevent burning. Toast for 1-2 minutes, then carefully open using gloves to check whether it’s toasted to your liking. Be sure to let an adult do this so the little ones don’t burn their hands. 
  3. Serve once cooled slightly but still oozy. These are delicious with a mocha or hot chocolate for dunking. 

For the 2 Cranberry-and-Camembert jaffles:

1 x 6 pack Woolworths Extra Spicy Hot Cross Buns
Butter, for greasing 
70 g Woolworths Speck Ham or crispy cooked bacon
125 g Camembert
1 x 155 g jar Woolworths Cranberry Jelly 

METHOD

  1. Cut the hot cross buns in half and grease the jaffle iron with butter. 
  2. Stuff the buns with the ham or bacon, Camembert and a smear of cranberry jelly. 
  3. Toast over a low gas flame or medium coals, flipping the jaffle iron every 10 seconds for even toasting and to prevent burning. Toast for 1-2 minutes, then carefully open using gloves to check whether it’s toasted to your liking. Allow to cool slightly, then dig in!

For the 3 Peanut butter-and-jam jaffles: 

1 x 6 pack Woolworths Fruit Free Hot Cross Buns 
Butter, for greasing
Peanut butter, for spreading 
Raspberry jam, for spreading 
12 fresh raspberries

METHOD

  1. Cut the hot cross buns in half and grease the jaffle iron with butter. 
  2. Spread each bun with peanut butter and a smear of jam, top with 2 raspberries, close and place in the jaffle iron. 
  3. Toast over a low gas flame or medium coals, flipping the jaffle iron every 10 seconds for even toasting and to prevent burning. Toast for 1-2 minutes, then carefully open using gloves to check whether it’s toasted to your liking. Allow to cool slightly, then enjoy!
