Garlic bread knots
Serves: | makes 15-20 knots |
Ingredients
- 90 ml warm water
- 2 x 10 g sachets instant yeast
- 4 Tbsp olive oil, to drizzle
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar for the egg whites
- 450 g Flour
- 200 g butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 6 Tbsp fresh parsley,finely chopped

Cooking Instructions
- Combine the water and yeast in a bowl and allow to stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the olive oil, salt and sugar and mix well then add the flour.
- Stir until the mixture comes together then turn out onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until you are left with a soft, smooth dough.
- Place in an oiled bowl and cover with cling film. Allow to rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough once risen and cut into long strips.
- Knot the strips of dough and place on a non-stick baking sheet.
- Pre-heat the oven to 180°c.
- Allow to rise for another 30 minutes then place in the oven.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes until the knots are golden brown and cooked through.
- While the knots are baking, combine all the garlic butter ingredients in a small saucepan and melt together.
- When the knots have baked, remove from the oven and brush with the garlic butter then serve immediately.
