Blue cheese and bacon beer bread

Ingredients

  • 4 spring onions, chopped
  • 30 g parsley, chopped
  • 125 g streaky bacon, chopped and fried
  • 100 g blue cheese, crumbled
  • water
  • 340 ml beer
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 500 g Self raising flour

Cooking Instructions

  1. Grease a loaf tin.
  2. Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stir in the beer and add a little water if the dough is to dry.
  4. Mix in the blue cheese, cooked bacon, parsley and spring onions.
  5. Transfer the dough to the loaf tin and bake for about 90 minutes.
  6. Test with a skewer after about one hour when the top is golden brown - if the skewer comes out clean, remove from the oven and cool slightly before serving with butter and soup
