Boerewors stew

Ingredients

  • 2 onion, finely chopped
  • canola oil, for frying
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 3 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 Tbsp turmeric, ground
  • 350g Grabouw boerewors
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried chilli flakes(optional)
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 Tbsp organic tomato paste
  • 1 x 400 g tin organic Italian chopped tomatoes
  • 1.5 L organic beef stock

Cooking Instructions

  1. Slice the onion and fry in hot canola oil with the cumin, smoked paprika and turmeric.
  2. Cut the boerewors into bite-sized pieces and brown with the onions.
  3. Add the garlic, chilli flakes, oregano, tomato paste, chopped tomatoes and beef stock. Simmer for 15 minutes and season.
