Self-saucing spiced chocolate

Ingredients

  • cups hot water
  • 4 tbs cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 150 g fresh cherries, halved and pitted
  • 1 pkt Woorlworths cherry liqueur chocolates
  • 2 tbs melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup castor sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup flour

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180C.
  2. In a bowl sift together flour, baking powder, sugar, cocoa and spices
  3. Stir in milk, melted butter then fold in the chocolates and cherries.
  4. Spread in a deep greased ovenproof dish.
  5. Mix together the brown sugar and cocoa powder, then sprinkle over the batter.
  6. Pour the hot water over the batter, then bake for 45 minutes at 180 degrees.
  7. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream
