Biltong and bacon dip

Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp canola oil, plus extra for greasing
  • 10 slices bacon, chopped and fried until crispy, to serve
  • 750 g cream cheese
  • 2 x 100 g biltong sprinkle
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • three-cheese straws, for serving

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat the canola oil in a pan over a medium heat. Roughly chop the bacon and fry until crisp. Drain on kitchen paper.
  2. In a food processor, blend the cream cheese, 5 T biltong sprinkle and the Dijon mustard until well combined.
  3. Spoon into a serving dish and scatter over the crispy bacon. Garnish with the remaining biltong, powder. Serve with the three cheese straws.

FLAVOUR NOTE
Biltong is a match for earthy mushrooms and sweet balsamic vinegar.
