Apple & Berry Crumble With Velvet Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 tub vanilla flavoured velvet dessert
  • 200 g bag frozen summer berries
  • 3 x 125 g fresh blueberries
  • 1 granny smith apple (230g), peeled, cored and cut in small cubes
  • 1 x 2 cm cinnamon sticks
  • 1/4 cup brown or treacle sugar
  • 1 tsp corn starch
  • 45 g unsalted butter
  • 1 box crumble mix
  • toasted flaked almonds

Cooking Instructions

1. Make the velvet cream dessert as per packaging instructions.

2. Then drain the access fluid from the defrosted berries.

3. In a bowl mix cinnamon, brown sugar and corn starch.

4. Combine the berries with half the sugar mix until fully coated.

5. In a separate bowl combine the rest of the sugar mix with apple slices to coat and keep aside.

6.  the berry mixture into a 20 cm round baking dish and neatly top with the apple slices, top with knobs of butter.

7. Prepare the crumble mix as per packaging instructions and top on the berries and apple slices.

8. Sprinkle with toasted almonds. Bake until top is golden and fruit is bubbly, about 35 minutes. Serve warm with velvet cream.
