We’re working with an international organisation called UTZ to enable farmers to learn better farming methods and increase cocoa yields, improve working conditions, take better care of their children and the environment and also help prevent deforestation.

  • TOASTED COCONUT MARSHMALLOW HOT CHOCOLATE

    You'll need two 400 ml coconut milk cans, 100 g dark chocolate, roughly chopped, 1 vanilla pod, seeded, 150g coconut marshmallows.

    Method: Heat the coconut milk in a saucepan over a medium heat until just simmering. Add the chocolate and vanilla, stir, and return to a simmer. Pour the hot chocolate into a large jug. Place the marshmallows in a large bowl and microwave for 30-second periods, stirring each time, until they become soft. Scoop onto the hot chocolate before serving.

  • COCONUT CHAI TEA

    You'll need 1 piece ginger, 1 stick cinnamon, 6 peppercorns, 2 cloves, 6 cardamom pods, 1 tbsp black tea leaves, 1 cup milk, 48g sugar, 2 cups coconut milk.

    Method: Dry a 4cm piece of fresh ginger in the oven by grilling for 1 minute on each side. Using a pestle and mortar, crush the dried ginger with the cinnamon, peppercorns, cloves, cardamom pods and black tea leaves to form a paste. Using a deep saucepan, combine the milk and the paste, and gently heat. Add the sugar and bring to a boil. Add the coconut milk and heat through, but do not boil. Strain and serve warm in glasses.

  • SPICED CARAMEL HOT CHOCOLATE

    You'll need 200g dark chocolate, 2 star anise, cinnamon for dusting, 3 cups of milk, 2 tots of brandy or Amarula, caramel treat, hot chocolate.

    Method: In a bowl, suspended over a saucepan of water on a medium to low heat, melt the dark chocolate. Pour into a clean saucepan over a low heat and add 2 star anise and a dusting of cinnamon. Slowly add the milk and brandy or Amarula, if desired. Spoon a dollop of Nestle Caramel Treat into four glasses and top up with the hot chocolate.
