Shisa nyama started out as a buy and braai concept pioneered by township butcheries to boost their weekend sales and bring people together. It has since become a staple in South Africa’s diverse culinary landscape.

While shisa nyama directly translates to “burn the meat” that couldn’t be further from its true meaning… Sunny skies, sizzling meat, lively music and friends gathered round to share a meal – shisa nyama is braai + good vibes.
