Care Guide for your Home
The single most important rule in caring for your product is also the most simple and obvious one. Always read the label and follow the instructions.
General care guide for home products:
- Wash linen in warm or cold water – Excessive heat will damage your linen product, especially if it contains rubber or spandex. This is why we always recommend that you wash in warm or cold water & always dry on a low temperature setting. Cotton bedding may require ironing to be completely free of wrinkles.
- Wash & dry sheets separately – Always wash & dry sheets alone, don’t mix with other fabrics or garments. NEVER wash your towels with your sheets, ass this will cause pilling.
- Caring for natural products – Down, feather, silk & wool products require dry cleaning once every 5 to 10 years and should be dry cleaned by a reputable company. Air them outside on a cool day to refresh between cleaning, and always use duvet covers & pillow protectors to ensure longer life.
- Synthetic bedding – Synthetic linen can be machine washed in an oversized machine. Choose the ‘no heat’ setting on your dryer. Use caution because excessive heat will damage the fibres & may ruin your product. Be sure to always use duvet covers & protectors to extend the life of your synthetic duvet & pillow.
- Use mild colourfast detergents – Avoid exposing your bedding to direct sunlight to prevent fading. Avoid detergents with brighteners, whiteners, colour boosters and colour enhancers. When washing duvet covers, they should be turned inside out and zippers shut.
BED SHEETS
- If sheets have a stain, treat the stain before washing.
- For a natural way to brighten white sheets, add a quarter cup of lemon juice to the wash and wash with warm water.
- Wash at medium to low heat setting, as high heat can weaken the fibres, which can lead to rips or tears.
DUVETS
- Fluff duvets daily
-- Air your duvet a couple of times a year by draping it over some chairs, ensuring the fill is evenly distributed.
- Store duvets in a breathable bag, not a plastic bag, as plastic bags can trap moisture & lead to mildew.
- Use duvet covers to protect your inners.
PILLOWS
- Fluff pillows regularly to allow the fill to go back to its natural shape and absorb fresh air.
- Use pillow covers as protectors
- When not in use, store pillows in a breathable bag, rather than a plastic bag.
TOWELS
- Recommend you wash your towels before first use. To prevent snagging and towel shrinkage the following should be followed:
- Machine wash your towels in warm water or cold water
- Tumble dry on low heat setting
- Use of softeners are not recommended, as the negatively affect absorbency
