Cheese types and wines

Cheese is arguably the easiest and most popular starter or dessert around. There are so many subtle nuances in the different types of cheese.  Cheese is all about discovery. Our easy guide to the different cheese types will make it easy for you to find your favourites.
  • SOFT CHEESE

The soft cheese category includes some of the most beloved cheeses like Brie, Camembert and Chevre.  You can expect subtly layered flavour profiles. Try our Labneh with Za'atar or the deliciously creamy White Rock with Genoa Figs.

  • SEMI-HARD CHEESE

Semi-hard cheeses usually become crumblier and more pungent as they age, but while young they are firm and flavourful. They tend to be on the drier side, but not hard and crumbly, just firm. They melt easily and have a milder flavour than their firmer counterparts.

  • HARD CHEESE

Hard cheeses are aged, crumbly and firm. These cheeses are great for crumbling and grating. Some of the most popular hard cheeses are Italian although a great aged cheddar or Gouda are fantastic alternatives. The aging process that happens when these cheeses are produced gives them their pungency and character. They traditionally have a longer shelf-life and continue to develop their flavour as they age.
