    My mother passed away almost 10 years ago. She was the very essence of what I believe a mom should be: Loving without being overbearing, kind, smart, hilariously funny and very patient.

    Oprah said it best: “Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother”. It’s the ability to selflessly guide and unconditionally love another purely for the betterment of that individual. And I do believe it’s women that carry this quality best.

    WHAT DOES “MOTHER” MEAN TO YOU?

    For me it means endless encouragement to go after my dreams, without fear of falling. My mother has also taught me that education is key and with knowledge being power, I have always sought to know my own worth – a lesson I hope to teach her granddaughters someday.

    Definitely my mom; I can go to her for anything and even when we fight, I can show up at her home and she will listen.
