How to make a sparkling wine bouquet
Want to impress your mom for Mother's Day or spoil a friend for a birthday? Woolworths TASTE food director Abigal Donnelly shares her tips for making a unique bouquet combining a bottle of Cap Classique with flowers.
Choose her favourite wine or bubbles
Need ideas? You can't go wrong with something sparkling and pink, like a bottle of Simonsig Cap Classique.
Select your blooms
Choose approximately 10 flowers, depending on their size, from a Woolies bouquet of seasonal flowers. Make up the remaining flowers into a separate bouquet with paper (or pop them in a vase for yourself!). Cut the stems at an angle and include some greenery.
Wrap ribbon around the bottle neck
A pretty piece of ribbon or even string can now be tied, quite loosely, around the neck of the bottle.
Attach the flowers
Add the stems one at a time, wrapping the ribbon or string around the bottle neck and each individual stem and pulling it tightly (you might need to ask someone to lend a hand).
Place it in the fridge
Keep the flowers fresh and the bottle chilled by placing it in the fridge until you're ready to gift it – preferably on the same day. You could also spritz the flowers with water to keep them fresh.
