Presenting: the caramelised banana pancake pie
Tired of all those pictures people are posting of their banana bread? Herewith, something else you might want to do with bananas – turn them into a warm, sticky, caramelised banana pancake pie (of sorts). It’s easy, it’s delicious, it’s a total treat.
Ingredients:
- 6 tbsp butter
- 6 tbsp brown sugar
- 6 bananas, halved
- 10 - 12 Woolworths Frozen Pancakes, thawed
- Caramel Treat 160 g
- Cream, ½ cup
- Dark chocolate 85 g, chopped
- Toasted flaked almonds, to serve
- Woolworths Caramel Crunch Sauce, to drizzle
- Vanilla ice cream, to serve
Method:
- Melt the butter in a pan, then add brown sugar and stir. Add halved bananas and caramelise for a minute or two, then turn and cook the other side.
- Heat the Woolworths Frozen Pancakes in the microwave, roll up a banana half in each pancake, and arrange in an ovenproof dish.
- Make a caramel sauce by heating up the cream to simmer and stirring in the caramel treat.
- Pour over the rolled pancakes and sprinkle with chopped chocolate and flaked almonds. 5 Bake at 200°C for 10 – 15 minutes until slightly golden and bubbling. Serve hot with scoops of vanilla ice cream and Woolworths Caramel Crunch Sauce.
