How to create a thali feast

But what is a thali feast?

Simply put, thali is the Indian term used for a round platter of food filled with a variety of small dishes to be enjoyed by several people.

To get started, simply heat:

- Bombay potatoes

- Butter chicken cook-in-sauce, with chicken breast

- Chickpea & butternut dhal

- Ready-made breyani rice

- Creamed spinach with yoghurt, chilli and coriander

Now add:

Something sweet: pomegranates or fruit chutney

Something spicy: mango atchar and chilli

Something salty: cashew nuts and naan bread

Something bitter: fresh coriander

Something sour: limes, limes (and more limes)

Something cooling: salted buttermilk lassi or sweet mango lassi
