Easy entertaining tear & share bread

Just because you’re thinking of doing some entertaining this summer (even if it is just for a small group of family or friends),  it doesn’t mean you have to spend ages slogging in the kitchen. Case in point, this delightful tear & share bread mix kit – it’s basically easy entertaining in a (beautiful!) baking dish.

Sun-dried tomato and basil tear and share bread

You will need:
  • A large mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Baking dish
  • Oil or butter for greasing the dish
  • 300 ml buttermilk  

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven 180°C (160°C for fan).
  2. Lightly grease the baking dish.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the dry mix provided, with the buttermilk. Mix gently until the dough starts to form.
  4. Grease your hands with oil. Pinch off 15 small golf ball sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. Place the dough in a circular pattern into the dish. Season and add the seed sprinkle evenly.  
  5. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Serve with:

Chunks of Woolworths Mature Gouda

New Woolworths Padrón Peppers, briefly charred

Good quality extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar, for dipping

Serves 6-8 as a starter
