Try this plant-based cauliflower cheese

Ultimate plant-based cauli-cheese

Serves 4 
Preparation: 15 minutes 
Cooking: 40 minutes 


  • 3 heads cauliflower 
  • 2 x 250 g sachets Woolworths Vegan Béchamel-style Sauce or Vegan Cheese Sauce 
  • 3 T olive oil
  • sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste 
  • 100 g Woolworths Dairy Free Hard Cheese, grated
  • 3–4 Woolworths Baby Leeks 
  • Woolworths Crispy Onions, for sprinkling
  • Chilli oil or lemon juice, for serving


  1. Preheat the oven to 200C. Chop 1 head cauliflower, cook until tender then blend until smooth. Fold into the sauce. 
  2. Slice the remaining cauliflower and pan fry in the olive oil, seasoning on each side, until golden brown but still crunchy. 
  3. Arrange in a baking dish and layer with the cauliflower béchamel-style sauce. 
  4. Top with a final layer of sauce, sprinkle with the cheese and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and delicious. Just before serving, fry the leeks until softened. Sprinkle over the bake with Woolworths crispy onions and enjoy with chilli oil or a squeeze of lemon.
