Seed & Feed Initiative

As part of our commitment towards addressing food security in schools, the Seed and Feed initiative provides us with the opportunity to donate seeds and/or seedlings for EduPlant school food gardens on your behalf.

How it works:

When you purchase our monthly Seed & Feed vegetable, we'll donate seeds and/or seedlings to an EduPlant school on your behalf. The seeds and/or seedlings will be given to schools in all provinces participating in workshops where they learn how to grow and sustain their own food gardens. Many of these schools use the food that is grown in their food gardens to supplement their school feeding schemes.

Buy this month's Seed & Feed vegetable and help make a difference. Or look out for the Seed & Feed logo in store or on pack.

What is the EduPlant Programme?

The EduPlant Programme is a permaculture food gardening programme for schools, initiated and managed by Food & Trees for Africa. It enables hundreds of schools and communities to grow their own food in a healthy, environmental and sustainable way. The programme aims to support school food gardens that supplement the National Schools Nutrition Programme. Read more about the EduPlant Programme
