Sizzling steaks for Father’s Day
Raise the stakes this Father’s Day by treating dad to some smokin’ steaks from the grill. Add a zingy herb butter sauce and a great glass of wine and you’ve got all the makings of the perfect meal.
To start:
Light a braai. (Obvs)
Now for the herb butter:
Blend together 3 chopped fresh green chillies, 2 chopped spring onions, 20 g Italian parsley, 10 g coriander and 250 g melted butter. Add to a small potjie with 2 roasted garlic cloves.
Now for the steaks:
Season thick cut rib-eye steaks well with salt and pepper. Toss them directly on the coals (trust us) and grill for 2–3 minutes on either side for medium rare perfection.
Assemble:
Grill spring onions on the coals until slightly blackened. Let the steaks rest for a minute before slicing. Serve the steaks with grilled spring onions and dollops of green herb butter, and a glass of Springfield Whole Berry Cabernet Sauvignon.
(And the bonus? You’ve completely minimised the washing up!)
