HALLOWEEN PARTY IDEAS

Of all the reasons there are to throw a party, trick or treat time has to be the one that offers the most theme options. From zombie or vampire (always in style) to old-fashioned ghouls and ghosts, we can’t think of anyone who doesn’t love dressing up, putting on a mask or make-up, and letting their hair down.

With 31 October falling on a Monday, there’s a whole weekend of tricks and treats to be had. So if you’re planning a party, we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves to suggest.

Ideas for kids

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the traditional game of bobbing for apples. It’s great fun watching kids, hands behind their backs, try to pick up an apple out of a tub of water with their teeth. You could also put a holiday spin on pin the tail on the donkey by creating your own game of pin the witch on the broom.

If the kids in your neighbourhood go trick-or-treating, Woolies has some cool decorations – like Halloween ‘danger’ tape and skeleton bags – as well as yummy treats. Check them out here
We’ve also got jack-o-lantern pumpkins in selected stores – ready and waiting for you to carve or decorate.

Fun for grown-ups

Halloween is also a great excuse for a fancy dress party for adults. Why not choose a theme and carry it through from the invitations to the decorations? Bloody Marys (with or without alcohol) make a great welcoming drink, or you can let your creative juices flow by starting with cranberry juice, pomegranate juice or our cold pressed juice made from beetroot, apple, orange and cucumber.
