3 Ways with pickled fish
Not that you need another excuse to buy more pickled fish and simply eat it out of the tub with a spoon (don’t worry we won’t tell)! But here are our 3 favourite ways to eat pickled fish this long weekend!
Rotis with coriander-and-mint yoghurt and apples
Easy
Serves: 4
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- Woolworths Fresh Butter Rotis, toasted in a pan
- Woolworths Yellowtail Pickled, to serve
- Granny Smith apples, cut into sticks
- Red onions, sliced to serve.
For the coriander and mint yoghurt:
- 10 g Woolworths Fresh Coriander
- 10 g Woolworths Fresh Mint
- 1 garlic
- 2 T olive oil
- Juice of half a lemon
- ½ cup yoghurt
- Sea salt, to season
Cooking instructions:
- To make your coriander-and-mint yoghurt drizzle, add all of the ingredients to a blender and blitz until smooth, add a dash of water if necessary. Season to taste.
- Toast your rotis in a pan with olive oil until golden and delicious. Serve with pickled fish, crunchy green apples, a drizzle of creamy coriander-and-mint yoghurt and fresh coriander with red onions.
Breyani rice and pickled fish bowls

Ingredients:
- 1 x 250 g Woolworths Heat & Eat Breyani Rice
- Woolworths Hake Pickled Fish, to serve
- Woolworths Mini Cucumbers, sliced to serve
- Fresh coriander, to serve
- Fresh chilli sliced
Cooking instructions:
- This is a great loadshedding dinner or lunch box hack, simply microwave the rice according to package instructions.
- Top with pickled fish, baby cucumbers for crunch and coriander with fresh chilli! Enjoy!
Hot cross buns and pickled fish
Easy
Serves: 4
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- Butter to toast
- Woolworths Hake Pickled Fish, to serve
- Woolworths Traditional Hot Cross Buns
Cooking instructions:
- Melt butter in a pan and toast halved hot cross buns until golden brown and crunchy. Spoon over pickled fish onto your hot cross buns and eat immediately.
