Sliced Smoked Gammon

There’s more to gammon than a festive centrepiece! Pre-sliced gammon shines beyond the big day and makes a fantastic addition to your favourite Alfredo.

Gammon Alfredo

Serves: 4 to 6
Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3 T olive oil
  • 3 leeks, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 4 brown mushrooms, chopped
  • 2 T butter
  • 2 cups cream 
  • 500 g Woolworths Ready to Eat Sliced Smoked Gammon, torn
  • 500 g pappardelle pasta, cooked as per packaging instructions
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 50 g hard cheese, to serve
     

Cooking instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a heavy-based saucepan and fry the leeks and garlic over a medium heat until slightly caramelised. Add the mushrooms, butter and cream and reduce for 5 minutes. 
  2. Add the gammon and toss in the pasta. 
  3. Season and serve hot, sprinkled with hard cheese. 

Cook’s note: No gammon? Crispy bacon or sandwich ham works just as well.
