Smart brekkies to get you through the day
Add some punch to your breakfast by trying out these two smart brekkies – the perfect way to fire up your day.
Quinoa and oats pancakes:
To a blender, add ½ cup cooked quinoa, ¾ cup desiccated coconut, 1 cup low fat milk, 1 free range egg, 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil, 1 teaspoon baking powder, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, the zest of a lemon, and 1 sachet Woolworths Steel Cut Oats. Blend until smooth. Lightly grease a pan with coconut oil. Pour batter into the pan and wait for bubbles to appear. Flip carefully and cook until golden. Serve hot and eat right away, with fresh strawberries and toasted almonds.
Green breakfast wraps:
Add 2 teaspoons avocado oil to a hot pan, along with a sprinkle of chilli. Add a free range egg and fry to your liking. For the breakfast wrap: toast a multiseed wrap and top with greens (like watercress), sprouts, the fried egg, ripe avocado and Woolworths Toasted Tahini Seed Sprinkle Mix. Enjoy!
