How to make baked breakfast oats

It’s the trendy breakfast everyone’s going to drool over: baked oats ‘cake’ for breakfast. It’s simple, it’s delicious, it’s pretty – and the kids are going to go crazy for it!

Baked oats for breakfast:

Preheat the oven to 180°C. Combine 2 cups steel-cut oats with 50g chopped raw almonds, 1 teaspoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon. Add 2 chopped apples to 2 baking dishes and top with blueberries. Top with the oat mixture. Combine a beaten egg, 2 cups milk and a drizzle of honey, pour over the oats until soaked. Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and set. Leave to cool and spoon out in the morning. Serve with a dollop of low fat yoghurt and fresh mango.
