How to glaze your gammon like a pro
Get your gammon on this Christmas with this rather gorgeous pear-and-maple-syrup glaze. Throw in a warm green salad with a Caesar dressing, then get ready to accept your new title: host with the most.
Best-ever glazed gammon:
Preheat oven to 220°C. Carefully remove the skin from Woolworths Ready to Eat Beechwood Smoked Gammon. Score the fat. Thinly slice 4 pears and pack them on the gammon in a firm layer. To make the maple glaze, pour ¾ cup maple syrup (or honey) into a pan over medium heat. Add 2 cinnamon sticks, a few cloves, ½ teaspoon fennel seeds and simmer until fragrant. Baste the gammon with the glaze. Place in the oven and roast until cooked (30-45 minutes), basting every 15 minutes.
Warm green salad with Caesar dressing:
Combine ½ cup mayonnaise with 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 6 chopped anchovy fillets, 1 crushed or grated garlic clove, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, ½ grated parmesan and fresh black pepper to taste. Drizzle over steamed Tenderstem™ and Brussels sprouts, sprinkle with pomegranate rubies and dig in!
