A little extra kitchen inspiration will go a long way to get you to fall in love with this essential food group. This week we’re cooking up a storm with root vegetables. 
Here are the 7 recipes to get you started.

  1. Shake up your carrots

    As one of the better known vegetables in the root family, the carrot enjoys widespread popularity across both savoury and sweet palates. This delicious, light dessert will satisfy your sweet tooth.

    Beetroot’s sweet yet earthy flavour make it an easy-to-use vegetable. It is as perfect in a salad or risotto as it is in a cake. These beetroot tarts are easy to prepare and sure to impress!

    The humble turnip is a versatile but mildly flavoured member of the root vegetable family. It works well paired with stronger flavoured vegetables. In this recipe we pair flavoursome celery with the turnip to make a delightful mash to accompany a hearty helping of ostrich meatballs.

    While they may look like large beige carrots, they are harder than carrots and have a deeper, warm taste. Here are two fantastic ways to cook with them:
