Chilli flakes, also known as crushed red pepper flakes or red pepper flakes, are a vibrant and fiery spice commonly used to add heat and depth to dishes. This flavoursome flakes and fiery seeds blend is made from dried and crushed chilli peppers, mostly Cayenne peppers, but can contain other pepper varieties. These chopped and dried chillies have the most intense heat and flavour.  For those who can handle the heat, these flakes should be added to any curry for a boost of heat.

HOW TO USE

• Add heat to stir fries, marinades, curries and sauces. 
• Stir a few flakes through your pilau or basmati rice for a bit of colour and flavour. 
• Chilli con carne will be incomplete without this essential ingredient. 
• Add to seafood pasta dishes, or tomato-based sauces, but use sparingly. 
• For homemade chilli oil, add 250ml of olive oil and 5ml of chilli flakes to a saucepan and gently warm the oil. Switch off and transfer into a sterilised jar. The heat will intensify as it matures.
• Half a teaspoon of these flakes would add the same heat as 1 fresh chilli.  
• Can be used to refill your jar.
