Does Woolies have an App and what are the benefits?

Yes, there is a Woolworths app. Our new app provides you with all of the tools you need to enjoy more from Woolworths. You'll be able to easily access account information, download your WRewards vouchers, search nearby stores, access fashion trends, recipes and so much more!

How do I download the Woolies App?

Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play and search for 'Woolworths'.  Once you have found our app, follow the instructions to download and register.

I can't download the Woolies App.

First check that you are connected to the internet by accessing woolworths.co.za using Wi-Fi or cellular data (check either is switched on in your settings).  If you are connected to the internet and the App still doesn't download, then please ensure you have entered the correct sign-in details for your app store.  

The Woolies App isn't working.

There could be a number of reasons why the app is not working.
  1. Check your mobile phone settings and ensure that Wi-Fi or mobile data is switched on.
  2. Then check that you are connected to the internet by accessing a web page, like www.woolworths.co.za.
  3. If you are connected to the internet and the App still doesn't work, then please ensure you have entered the correct registration and sign-in details. Please be aware that it might appear that you are connected to the internet via a Wi-Fi hotspot in the shopping centre (e.g. Always On) but this is only the case if you are logged into the hotspot.

I don't seem to be able to register for the App. What should I do?

Please check that you are using the right details to register, including a valid email address. To link your WRewards and Woolies account to your App, please follow the instructions in the App. Once you have linked your username to your account you will be able to see all your information including balances and vouchers.

I have forgotten my Woolies online password. What should I do?

Click on the 'Forgotten Password' link on the sign-in page and follow the on screen prompts.  This will quickly reset your password and then sign-in again.

How do I change my Woolworths online password?

Click on the 'Forgotten Password' link on the sign-in page and follow the on- screen prompts. Please follow the process and we will send you a new password.
If you want to change you password then please visit Woolworths Online and sign in  to the My Account section.  Once in My Account, then click on My Details and Change My Password link is located on the right hand side of the page.  Follow this link.

I have changed my email address. What should I do?

You will need to call the relevant call centre to change details and/or permission settings (i.e. to give Woolworths permission to contact you). Remember, with MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet you must give both MySchool and Woolworths permission to contact you. Contact numbers are provided in the Contact Us section of the App.

How much will it cost to download the Woolies App?

The Woolies App is free and always will be, but the App does require data to download and use.  The best way to download the App is to use our in store Wi-Fi. Once you have downloaded the App, then the cost to use it is less than making a call to our call centre for the equivalent service.

How much will it cost to use the Woolies App?

This depends on how much you use the App, but we have optimised the App to minimise your data usage, for example the launch screen videos are included in the App download and therefore do not use any more data once launched for the first time.  The initial download of the App is relatively small at less then 100MB, but why not try our free in-store Wi-Fi when accessing your App store?

What phone do I need to be able to use the Woolies App?

The Woolies App is optimised for Android and iOS operating systems. If you use any other phone operating system then you can use our mobi site, which will give those customers with Financial Services products some basic information. The link for the mobi site is  http://m.woolies.co.za/?url=Home/Login. Alternatively you can use our online site at www.woolworths.co.za. For those without a smart phone or internet access then our USSD service also provides Financial Services account holders with basic information. Simply dial *120*985# and follow the prompts. 

What personal information will be required from me?

In order to register for the App, we require only your email address.Simply follow the screen prompts to register quickly and easily. 

How do I register for the Woolies App and what are the benefits?

Registration is free and easy. Simply download the App from your App store and follow our step by step instructions. The registration process will also explain some of the benefits of the App.

Is my information safe?

Yes, Woolies takes the protection of personal information very seriously and uses the latest encryption software to protect your data.

Can I register more than one cell phone number?

Registration is based on username, not cell phone number so you can use the App on multiple devices.

Can I use my existing Woolworths online log in details?

Yes you can, and you can use your App log in details on Woolworths Online as well. 

How do I log-in to the Woolies App?

Once you have downloaded the App and registered, then simply following the instructions to log-in using your username and password.

What should I do if I lose or change my phone?

The Woolies App is not specific to the phone or device you are using.  Simply re-download the App and log-in to continue to use the App.

How do I use the Product Search feature?

The easiest way to use Product Search is to scan the bar code of the item you want to know about. You can also search by category or manually type in a product and the App will search for you.

How do I use the Credit Limit Increase feature?

Follow the on screen instructions to apply for a credit limit increase - the App will lead you through every step. Please remember that you will need to provide proof of income documentation as part of your application. You can submit this easily now by taking a photo of your payslips or bank statements and sending it to us using the email address provided in the App.

How do I use the Woolies App store locator?

In order to use store locator you will need to have the GPS on your phone switched on (please check your phone settings) and give the Woolies App permission to use your location. The store locator will find where you are and direct you easily to the nearest Woolworths store.

Where are my vouchers?

Your vouchers are located in the WRewards section of the App. Please note these are only redeemable in store at this time.

How do I redeem my vouchers?

Vouchers can be redeemed easily at any Woolies store. Simply present your voucher at the till to the operator and they will do the rest. Please check your voucher is valid for the purchase you are making.

How do I contact Woolies?

Use the Contact Us page on the App to find all the details you need.

I have seen something on the App I would like to buy. How do I do that?

Use the App to browse our entire product range. Please follow the link to our website to finalise your purchase quickly and easily.

How to I opt in or out of in-App messaging?

You can set up your messaging preferences for all Apps in the settings section of your phone.  Select the Woolworths App and change to the desired setting.

The mobile App is slow to respond to my requests.

Performance of any App will vary based on the quality of the internet connection you are using.  Please ensure you are using the best internet connection you have available.  If this is less than 3G (e.g. EDGE) then the performance of the App may be variable.  We are always working on how to improve performance so watch out for regular upgrades and always load the latest version of the App.

I notice that prices sometimes vary between the App, stores and Woolworths on-line.

Please enable location based services on the App to ensure the prices you see are the most relevant.  From time to time there may be variances in prices across regions due to differences in distribution costs.  In addition, there may be promotions that are only applicable to a specific region or channel.
