Are my Credit Card details safe?

Yes! We use the highest standard of encryption when passing payment information between your computer and our website. In addition, credit card details which are used for payment on our website are handled according to international best-practice standards with key data removed and encrypted. We do not record or retain any of the PIN or CVV numbers which are used for authentication of your card.

How can I pay?

You can pay for your order with any Mastercard or Visa credit card, as well as Woolworths Store Cards, Woolworths Credit Cards and Woolworths Gift Cards. Unfortunately we cannot accept American Express, Diners Club, or payment on delivery. Please note: Some Debit Cards will allow you to make purchases on our website, but you may find that an outstanding authorised amount appears on your account statement for some time after delivery of your purchases. We are working on a solution to this. Please contact our customer service centre for more information.


Can I pay in a foreign currency with my credit card?

Yes. Our payment processor will accept a non-South African credit card; you will automatically be billed in your credit card statement with the equivalent value in your currency.

Can I use my Woolworths Store Card or Woolworths Credit Card to shop on the website?

Yes, you can. We gladly accept Woolworths Store Cards, Woolworths Visa Credit Cards and Woolworths Gift Cards.

Can I pay with a Woolworths Gift Card?

Yes. We accept Woolworths gift cards for online payments, but currently only one gift card may be used per order. Woolworths gift cards can be purchased at any Woolworths store and can be topped up any time.

Can I pay cash or cheques on delivery?

No, we are only able to accept card payments via our website. You can use the following South African  cards: MasterCard, Visa, Woolworths Store Card, Woolworths Credit Card.  We also gladly accept Woolworths Gift Cards.

Can I use eBucks, Mimoney or PayPal to shop on this website?

Not yet. We will be introducing other payment methods as soon as we can.

How does the 2018 VAT increase affect Woolworths prices?

On the 21st February the Finance Minister announced that there would be an increase in the value-added tax (VAT) rate from 14% to 15%, effective 1 April 2018.

We are in the process of adjusting prices on our products to reflect the new VAT rate. During the changeover period, there may be a difference between the price on the product or on display in store, and the price at the till. The correct price, which will include the extra 1% VAT, will be reflected at the till and on your till slip.

The updated prices will be available on our website from 1 April 2018.
