What is Woolworths Credit Card Banking Online?

Woolworths Credit Card Banking Online offers you banking services online for your Woolworths Credit Card.  With internet access you have the convenience of transacting or viewing your account from anywhere.

Where do I register for the service?

You can register online at www.woolworths.co.za.  Follow the links to the Woolworths Financial Services page for Credit Card.

What software/hardware do I need?

You’ll need the following software/hardware to access Woolworths Banking Online system:

  • Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed (minimum requirement)
  • Access to an internet service provider (150kbps or faster connection recommended)
  • We support any browser with SSL2.0, SSL 3.0 and a 128 bit cipher. Internet Explorer 6.0 with SP1, or Netscape 7.2. recommended
    Personal Computer with the following minimum recommended hardware:
    o 1.0 Ghz or better CPU
    o 512 Mb RAM (1Gb or more for Windows Vista and Windows 7)
    o 150 kbps or faster Internet connection (ADSL, 3G, CDMA, EGDE or HSDPA)
    o Cellphone and cellular service (contract or prepaid) to receive Random verification number and Logon notification SMS-messages

This service is only applicable to your Woolworths Credit Card account.

How many accounts can I link to the service?

Only your Woolworths Credit Card account can be linked to this service.

How many beneficiaries can I link to the service?

Up to 999 beneficiaries can be linked to the service.

When do I have to pay the charges for Banking Online?

We calculate the charges for Banking Online and debit them from your credit card account once a month. All transactions made in that period are included. The monthly period is from the second last working day of each month to the second last working day of the next month.  Sundays and Public Holidays are excluded in determining your monthly period.

How many attempts do I have to enter my PIN number?

You have three (3) attempts to enter your Banking Online PIN number.  After the third unsuccessful attempt, we will cancel your Banking Online PIN number.  You can reset your PIN by selecting the Forgot PIN option under Important Links on the WFS Credit Card Banking Login Page.

How many attempts do I have to enter my password?

You have three (3) attempts to enter your Banking Online Password.  After the third unsuccessful attempt, we will cancel your Banking Online Password.  You can reset your Password by selecting the Forgot Password option under Important Links on the WFS Credit Card Banking Login Page.

What is a Banking Online daily limit?

Banking Online limit apply to daily payments and are part of overall Banking Online security.  Once you have set your daily limit, you can only transact within this limit on a particular day. To set the limit once logged in select Profile, Manage Services, Manage Limits.  Until you have set limit, you will be able to transact up to the default daily amount of R5,000.

What are my Banking Online daily limit?

The default limit is R5,000 however you can set higher or lower limits completely up to you. You should set them to enable you to make your usual payments when you need to.  You must still have the funds available in your accounts to make these payments.  

What are the operating hours of the call centre?

WFS call centre times 7:30am to 9:00pm.

What are the operating hours of this service?

Banking Online is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. There may be occasional short periods when the service is not available due to maintenance.

Which kind of payments can I make with Woolworths Credit Card Banking Online?

  • Beneficiary payments
    • These are payments to third parties. They could be on the ABSA beneficiary list (pre-defined beneficiaries) or they could be beneficiaries you have set up yourself. To set them up you need the bank account number, branch code and account type. You create these beneficiaries online and they become part of your list. You can select them for payment as often as you need without having to give the details again. Should you misplace your card, your beneficiaries can be transferred to your new account by contacting us telephonically.

 

How long does it take a payment to be made after you request it?

Please note: The Woolworths Banking Online service uses Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The cut-off times are governed by INTERBANK CLEARING RULES.

 

Payments from a Woolworths credit card account to an Absa bank account:

If you make any transactions from a Woolworths credit card account to an Absa account, the transaction will reflect immediately. For example, if you pay an amount from a Woolworths credit card account to an Absa account, the Absa account will be credited immediately.

All transactions between Woolworths and another bank will be sent to the other bank the next business day.

 

When I create a beneficiary does Woolworths Credit Card Banking Online check the Beneficiary Account information?

No, Woolworths Credit Card Banking Online does not check this information for you. Credit transfers are processed according to the information you supply. This means that you are responsible for providing the correct account number.

I stopped a debit order online, but the debit order was still debited from my account. Why did this happen?

When a debit order is stopped via the Banking Online website, the debit order will still be debited from your account. However, the debited amount will be returned three to four days later. This is because the debit order was sent by an external company (for example an Insurance house or Service Provider) on a day agreed by you and the external party. Woolworths does not hold the transaction information.

What is my access account number?

It is your Woolworths Credit Card Account number.

What is a PIN number?

PIN stands for Personal Identification Number.   You choose this Banking Online PIN number when you register for Woolworths Banking Online. The Banking Online PIN number will have numbers only and can be four or five digits long. You have to enter your Banking Online PIN number every time you log on.

What is a Password?

The system will ask for a Password every time you log on.  

What is a Surecheck?

Surecheck is a compulsory notification which you receive by SMS every time you create a new beneficiary, change your Login details or Daily Internet limits.  You need to either Accept or Decline the Surecheck message before the instruction can be completed.  Should your cell phone number change, please contact us to update your details.

What is a Random Verification Number (RVN)?

The RVN is a compulsory 8 digit number that you receive by SMS every time you create a new beneficiary, stop order or operator or every time you change your notification details or daily Internet limits. You need to enter this number before the instruction can be completed. Should your cell phone number change, please contact us to update your details.  This system is used as a backup to the Surecheck SMS Notification.

What is a Notification?

This is a service you can choose so that Woolworths informs you when a specific action or event (as listed below) occurs on your Woolworths Banking Online service. You will receive notification by SMS.

The following action/events are available:

  • When a logon occurs
  • A payment is made
  • A payment beneficiary is created
  • A PIN is changed
  • A password is changed

What is a Notice of Payment?

This is a proof of payment notice generated via the Woolworths Banking Online service for a specific payment made using Woolworths Banking Online. This proof of payment can be sent to yourself or the beneficiary via SMS, E-mail or fax.

What is a Main user?

The main user is the owner of the Woolworths Credit Card. The main user has access to all features and accounts linked to the profile. Secondary card holders will not have access to Banking Online.

How do I change my PIN number?

If the PIN number is still valid, you will be able to create a new PIN number online. If you forgot your PIN or it is cancelled you can reset your PIN by selecting the Forgot PIN option under Important Links on the WFS Credit Card Banking Login Page

How do I change my password?

If the password is still valid, you will be able to create a new password online. If you forget your password or it is cancelled you can reset your Password by selecting the Forgot Password option under Important Links on the WFS Credit Card Banking Login Page.

How do I change my Surecheck?

A Surecheck cannot be changed.  You will have the opportunity while performing your transaction to request a new Surecheck SMS Message, if necessary.

How far back will I be able to access my transactional history?

You will be able to view transactional history up to one hundred (100) lines of transactions or the last three (3) months transactions.  Archived statements will provide transactional history up to 2 years from the current month.

How far back will I be able to access my tax certificates?

You will be able to view tax certificate history up to 5 years from current date.
