This Japanese inspired Teriyaki Sauce has an umami flavour with garlic and ginger.  The word 'Teriyaki' refers to the Japanese method of cooking, 'teri', meaning gloss and 'yaki', to grill.

HOW TO USE

• Teriyaki sauce is the key ingredient for coating or marinating the meat or vegetables to be grilled. The sauce creates the glossy, sticky finish for which this signature Japanese-style food is known.
• Store in a cool, dry place.
• Refrigerate after opening and use within 2 weeks.

RECIPE SUGGESTION

• Preheat oven to 220 °C. Half and score 2 medium-sized aubergines, drizzle with oil and season with salt and white pepper. 
• Place the scored side down on a roasting dish or baking tray and roast for 15 minutes. 
• Remove from the oven and reduce heat to 200 °C.
• Turn over the aubergines and brush the scored side with approximately half the jar of Woolworths Teriyaki sauce using a basting brush. 
• Return to oven for 15 minutes. Brush with a final layer of Woolworth's teriyaki sauce, approximately 1 tablespoon before serving. 
• Serve as a side dish or as an appetizer. 
• Alternatively serve as a vegetarian meal, on a bed of rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds, sliced spring onion, and fresh coriander. 
• Drizzle with Sesame Sauce for a nutty and creamy finish.
