These are ideal for kids to pack their own lunch boxes, or even to fix a lunch plate when coming home from school. They will still need a little guidance from mom on how to put together a balanced variety of foods, but this is a great way to get them involved in the kitchen.

1. The dry station

A ‘dry’ station in the cupboard could be stocked with:

- Biltong bites

- Raw, unsalted nuts

- Dried fruit like raisins and mango strips

- Rice, oats and corn cakes

- Raw coconut and date balls

- Nut butter spread, like almond or no sugar and salt added peanut butter

2. The cold station

Stock the fridge shelves with:

- Fruity Toots snack pots (mango, blueberry etc)

- Sparkling water

- Prepared veggie snacks like baby carrots, mini cucumbers, snacking tomatoes and sugar snap peas

- Plain cottage cheese or hummus

- Individual cheese bites

- Mini frikkadels

- or even cooked eggs

So simple, yet so handy.
