Milestones (16-18 months)
Month 16
Most toddlers should be able to:
- Turn the pages of a book when you read.
- Sing and like to sing.
- Get upset when frustrated.
- Get attached to stuffed animals or other objects.
Some toddlers may be able to:
- Walk backwards.
- Say up to 10 or 15 words.
Month 17
Most toddlers should be able to:
- Start to climb and explore.
- Enjoy certain games.
- Like to ride toys.
Some toddlers may be able to:
- Run well.
- Use certain words regularly.
- Become picky about certain foods.
Month 18
Most toddlers should be able to:
- Say at least 15 or 20 words.
- Draw a scribble well.
- Run well.
- Feed themselves with a spoon.
Some toddlers may be able to:
- String words together to make phrases or put together pairs of words.
- Jump around.
- Brush their teeth with help.
- Take off an article of clothing alone.
