Milestones (13-15 months)

Month 13

Most toddlers should be able to:

  • Say two or more words other than mama or dada.
  • Stand well.
  • Bend over to pick up objects.
  • Take a few steps and walk with help.

Some toddlers may be able to:

  • Say three or more words other than mama or dada.
  • Scribble with markers or crayons.
  • Respond to commands without gestures.

Month 14

Most toddlers should be able to:

  • Take a few steps unassisted.
  • Empty a container filled with objects and put them back in the container.
  • Say three or more words other than mama or dada.
  • Eat finger foods.

Some toddlers may be able to:

  • Toddle well.
  • Point to a body part when asked.
  • Combine words and gestures to make their needs known.

Month 15

Most toddlers should be able to:

  • Toddle well.
  • Climb stairs.
  • Say up to five words.
  • Like to look at books and turn the pages.
  • Laugh at funny things.

Some toddlers may be able to:

  • Walk well or run.
  • Sing.
  • Draw lines.
