What is podcasting?
A podcast is a radio programme on the internet that can be downloaded onto your computer and listened to whenever you’d like to hear it – either on your computer or after it has been transferred to an iPod or MP3 player.
There are two main ways you can get a podcast (and it's all FREE):
- You can SUBSCRIBE to the podcast. This doesn’t mean having to pay for it. It just means that, as long as you have all the right things on your computer, it will automatically look for and download the latest edition of the podcast every time you log on to the internet. It will then be ready for you to listen to or to sync when you next plug in your iPod or other portable device. You will need to download a small piece of software that manages all of your podcast subscriptions – most people use something called iTunes. Click on either of the links below if you need help with that or don’t have it.
- You can also download episodes manually and not subscribe.
